Sekaien Races: The Stilournne

| ' Little is known about the Stilournne. They are amongst the most ancient of races on Sekai, believed to be a split off species from Nyxians, Saiumi, and Draconians. The common ancestor being a crauler 'fish'. Unlike the others races, the Stilournne are the only one to have kept all of their limbs with intact sails in between. While they spend almost their entire lives on land, they are just as good underwater.

It is thought they have taken the saiumi's example and built an underwater city within an air barrier, though this is simply a hoped for myth.

They face extinction in the current days of sekai, though they hope for a future. As a peaceful carnivore species, they do not fight in wars, but have been a target in the Human-Non Human War. They posses no natural predators.

They were however, not so lucky. They were not able to help in the war because their home was the first hit by Humans- who hit them with a Nuclear bomb and killed most of them in a few hits. Those who survived were suffering from radiation, and those who were not near the bomb later found the others mostly sterile. non sterile ones bred mutations into them, and many losses over time surfaced. It was because the Stilournne were hit first and the other races right after that help was not immediately found for them. Many died before the allies were able to get to them and help. Due to this incident, The Stilournne, while not blaming the other races, have gone into hiding, literally splitting up and dissapearing in the world. If you were staring at a stilournne who did not want you to see it, you'd never know it was there.

It is thought that either they breed successfully only rarely, or they have a severly high infant mortality rate- or both. this problem isnt clear, but there are at most, roughly 200 of this species left on the planet. Females are also born less often than males, and so of those left, one in 25 is a female. If it is true that only two hundred more or less still live, then it also means only about twenty are female.

In color, this species tends to keep to more earthtone colors, ranging from cream and light tans, to dark brown and black with a startling array of patterning in between. Their pelts, which are covered in thick, long and soft fur, can sometimes be patterend much like domestic and wild cats, horses, ferrets and other such 'natural' colors. It is believed that while in the womb, the young Stilournne infants are thought to cast their vast minds around their surroundings and imprint colorations from what they 'see'.
It was recently discovered that Stilourne can appear in any coloration array they feel like, and can alter their colors, though return to their 'born' color. They have been observed with any color fur, including metalic color. Whatever they favored most, they are.

It is my theory that some deaths in their young may be caused by the residual radiation after the War/slaughter.

Most stilournne have a minimum of four pairs of limbs, two sets of fore-arms and a middle set that can be a merging of fronts and hinds, and one set of hinds. Some individuals have as many as five or six pairs. All Stil's have long tails that end in a small plume. They also have four eyes, two on each side and a series of light/dark, heat/cold and movement sensors along the sides of their faces.

In addition, they also posses facial/body markings that identify individuals. These can be simple, complex, or in between but every Stil' has one. The front two arms have five digits- four fingers and a thumb, as does the rest of their limbs including their feet to a degree. They are far more dexterous with their arms than feet for obvious reasons. Also, Stilournne have a strange setup with their hands and feet- both the thumb and 'pinky' digits are longer than the other three toes. the pinky digit acts as a second thumb. It is not known why they evolved this way.

Often, they can have an extra 'digit' specificly for a defensive claw that has a venom secretion inside it. Like the nyxians they are related to, they are venomous- but much less so than their far, distant cousins. They mostly rely on their jaw pressure and their refusal to let go. Their jaws have a locking means that makes it impossible for them to open their jaws until what they have clamped into has been bitten through. This does not happen every time they bite, and can be controlled easily.

Many Stil' have manes, varying from flowy and long to short and wavey, all the way to stiff and standing up like a mohawk. Some posess tufts on their ankles and wrists. from the elbow to the hands, their fur is much shorter. They often have long ears but not always. eye colors can be most anything, even bicolored. eyes are always reflective and can glow at will. They have long whiskers (not shown because I accidently erased them XD) that flow out from their muzzles, eyebrows, and chin. Similar ones go down much of their spines. They also posess two orblike 'markings' that are muck like crystal patches on their foreheads. These decorative looking crystals can light up and actually project not only light like powerful flashlights, but can also projects ones memories, thoughts, dreams and so on. In some cases, these memories have been relied upon as a means of story telling and witness reports.

It is also thought that while Stilournne are commonly seen with 'natural' colors and earthtones, it is entirly possible for them to be any color variation. It is up to the individual. It is believed the more colorful ones are either in hiding somewhere, or are confused with other species at first glance. A stilournne never stays in sight for very long- their mental power allows them to detect when any but their own species is looking at them. Other powers include elemental abilities, though it is not yet confirmed.
Whily studying an elder female, it became clear how truely elegant these creatures are, despite seeming to have random limbs. Their long, gently sloped muzzles and delicate whiskers, bright eyes and easy going temperament really bring out outstanding ancient features on them that have lasted Milena.
Whatever histories they have are unknown, perhaps much is lost even to them. If there are any more abilities and physical traits, I have been yet unable to learn it. Further study is needed.... '

I honestly should NOT be posting this. Sure as snot, someone will try to rip off my designs someday, or claim they had the idea first. I know originality is nearly impossible nowadays, but alas...The Stilournne are MINE. They werent based off of any existing species, though I loosly point out similarity to ferrets sortof, but not really. The individual shown in the image is a male, named Skkialltoc! Please do not make your own Stilournne. They are reserved for my close friends (as all my species) as well as people who are writing with me on the Book.

please ASK ME first if you absolutly cannot live without a sekaien character and maybe we can discuss it :3- though dont be mad at me if i say no.

this is one of my, till now, secret races on sekai and I love them dearly. It is my hope that people do not abuse them.
